Position:            Thermal Spray Operator

Department:     Fabrication

Reports to:        Fabrication Manager – Edgar Muñoz

Pay:                    $15 starting

Thermal spray operator

Rooftop Anchor (RTA) has been a leader in the rooftop fall protection industry. As a Thermal Spray Operator in RTA’s fabrication department, you are part of a team that builds custom fall protection systems with high strength metals including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

This is a full-time position working in MIRO’s warehouse in Heber City. Full-time employees are eligible to receive benefits, including health insurance, long term disability, paid time off, paid holidays, a SIMPLE IRA with a company match, and participate in the company’s profit sharing plan.

You will be expected to be able to read blueprints and fabrication drawings. You are expected to learn various aspects of job building and product application. RTA places high priority on safety and lean and 5S practices and this position is expected to be fully engaged with implementing safe practices and helping the warehouse reach its goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Spraying (Grit & Thermal)
  • Grinding,
  • Finishing,
  • Polishing,
  • Safely operating a 5,000 lbs. forklift,
  • Trouble-shooting problems and helping to define processes,
  • And other duties as needed and directed by manager.

Qualifications:

 

  • Fabrication skills, including the use of a level, combo square, tape measure, positioners, and testing devices,
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and basic trig,
  • Strong problem-solving skills,
  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision,
  • Prior spraying experience (painting, blasting, etc.) preferred but not required.

 

A Thermal Spray Operator also needs to:

 

  • Be able to fulfill production needs for high-demand products with a quick-turn around time,
  • Be willing and able to learn,
  • Be willing to take advice and make suggestions for improvement,
  • Be respectful in all communications,
  • Be able to work a consistent schedule, typically Monday – Friday, 8 hours a day,
  • Be on feet all day on a concrete floor,
  • Lift 70 — 85 lbs. continuously throughout the day,
  • Be able to do repetitive work for long periods of time,
  • Work to RTA’s safety standards,
  • Be tolerant of temperature swings (the warehouse is hot in the summer and cold in the winter),
  • And keep work area clean, neat, and organized according to 5S principles.

Position:            Swing-Shift Lead

Department:     Fabrication

Reports to:        Manufacturing & Fabrication Manager – Edgar Muñoz

Pay:                    Depends on Experience

RTA fabrication SWING shift lead

Rooftop Anchor (RTA) is a leader in the rooftop fall protection industry. As the Fabrication Swing-shift Lead in RTA’s fabrication department, you are part of a team that builds custom fall protection systems with high strength metals including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

This is a full-time position, working Monday – Friday, 2:40 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., in RTA’s warehouse in Heber City.

Full-time employees are eligible to participate in the company’s comprehensive benefit package, including health insurance, dental and vision insurances, long term disability and life insurances, paid time off, paid holidays, a SIMPLE IRA with a company match, and participate in the company’s profit sharing plan.

You will be expected to perform various fabrication tasks such as welding, operating the saw, laser, and robotic welder. In addition to your regular fabricator tasks you will share in some joint leadership responsibilities with the manufacturing manager such as managing weekly fabrication priorities and providing daily help, support, and answers to the existing fabrication staff regarding low-to-mild critical decision making. You are expected to learn various aspects of job building and product application. RTA places high priority on safety and lean and 5S practices and this position is expected to be fully engaged with implementing safe practices and helping the warehouse reach its goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Regular fabrication tasks (welding, cutting, laser, etc.),
  • Joint leadership responsibilities shared with Manufacturing Manager,
  • Provide daily support, help, guidance, and answers for low risk decision making for fabrication staff,
  • Participate in continuous training on equipment, on the job, and lean manufacturing for existing and new fabrication employees,
  • Assist with monitoring levels and quantities of raw materials, welding/cutting consumables, and general shop supplies,
  • Have good communication, leadership, and people skills with superiors and fabrication staff,
  • Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills using Word, Excel and Outlook,
  • Ensure fabrication staff stays productive, on task, respectful, and abides to company policies when Manufacturing Manager is absent,
  • And other duties as needed and directed by manager.

 

The Swing-shift Lead also needs to:

 

  • Be able to pass a weld test per AWS D1.1 and D1.6 structural steel welding requirements,
  • Be willing and able to learn,
  • Be willing to take advice and make suggestions for improvement,
  • Be respectful in all communications,
  • Be on feet all day on a concrete floor,
  • Lift 60 – 70 lbs.,
  • Be able to do repetitive work for long periods of time if needed,
  • Work to RTA’s safety standards,
  • Be tolerant of temperature swings (the warehouse is hot in the summer and cold in the winter),
  • Be dependable and consistent, both in keeping your work schedule and in the output you generate,
  • And keep work area clean, neat, and organized according to 5S principles.

Pay:                    $15 – $17/hour starting, depending on experience

MIG WELDER

This is a full-time position working in RTA’s warehouse in Heber City. Full-time employees are eligible to receive benefits, including health insurance, long term disability, paid time off, paid holidays, a SIMPLE IRA with a company match, and participate in the company’s profit sharing plan.

You will be expected to be able to read blueprints including weld symbols and fabrication drawings. All applicants will be required to perform a weld test per AWS D1.1 & D1.6 structural steel welding requirements. You are expected to learn various aspects of job building and product application. RTA places high priority on safety and lean and 5S practices and this position is expected to be fully engaged with implementing safe practices and helping the warehouse reach its goals.

  • Operating the bandsaw,
  • Operating Oxy-fuel torch & or hand plasma,
  • Safely operating a 5,000 lbs. forklift,
